About the Role
RisingAssist is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Driver / Transporter to transport adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to and from our day support program and community-based activities. This role is essential in ensuring safe, timely, and respectful transportation while maintaining a supportive and positive experience for all participants.
The Driver will be responsible for operating a company van, assisting passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, and ensuring all transportation activities are conducted in compliance with safety standards and guidelines set by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, and attentive, with a strong commitment to safety and excellent interpersonal skills when working with individuals who may have mobility, behavioral, or cognitive challenges.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Valid Virginia driver’s license with clean driving record
Minimum 2 years of driving experience
Experience transporting passengers (preferred)
Ability to safely assist individuals with mobility needs
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
