About the Role
RisingAssist is seeking an experienced and dependable Program Supervisor to provide direct oversight and support to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) within our Adult Day Support Program serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This role serves as a bridge between frontline staff and leadership, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly while maintaining compliance with standards set by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. The DSP Lead will assist with staff supervision, training, scheduling support, and real-time problem-solving while also providing direct care as needed.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who leads by example, demonstrates excellent communication skills, and is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centered care. This position is critical in maintaining
consistency, staff accountability, and a safe, structured environment for participants.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required (Associate or Bachelor’s preferred)
Minimum 1–2 years experience working with ID/DD population
Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to handle challenging behaviors professionally
Perferred Qualifications
Knowledge of DBHDS regulations and compliance standards
Experience with documentation and service plans (ISPs)
Ability to train and mentor staff effectively
Strong organizational and time-management skills
